Hovhannes Aleksanyan

Voice “ashughakan”

Hovhannes was born in Yerevan in 1993. Started to sing aged only 6. In 2002 he entered the Ashugh Jivani Folk Music College. He debuted on the National Armenian TV aged 8 featuring in the music show “ Parnassus” the same year. From 2004 Hovhannes regularly appears in the concerts all over Armenia, he even sings for the soldiers of the Armenian army. In 2004 together with the “Aravot” dance group Hovhannes tours Czech Republic. In 2005 Hovhannes continues intensive touring having visited France, Spain and Belgium. In 2006 the family suffered tragedy – his father died. In 2007 Hovhannes started over his concert activity appearing in the international festivals in Italy, France and Spain. Hovhannes appeared in concerts with the renowned “Barekamoutyun” dancing group and Tovmas Poghosyan’s ashugh music concerts. Now aged 15 he can boast wide popularity among true lovers of “ashugh” music.
