Haroutyun Chkolyan – duduk

Born in 1991 in Gavar. In 1998 he entered Henrik Talalyan Music School in Gavar, class of Ashot Ghazanchyan, majoring in shvi. In 1999, aged 6, he participated in the Regional Republican Festival Competition and was awarded the First prize. In 2000 the family moved to Yerevan, and he entered Tchaikovsky Music School, class of Samvel Yeknapeshyan. In 2002 he completed his shvi studies and continued education majoring in clarinet, class of Merited Artist of RA Professor Souren Shindyan. In 2003 he entered the same school’s department of folk instruments, and studied duduk with Merited Artist of RA Assistant Professor Gevork Dabagyan. He numerous times participated in the presentation concerts of Tchaikovsky Music College. In 2005 he participated in “Delphic games” III International Juniors competition-festival (2005, diploma, Ukraine). From 2006 he is a bursar of Spivakov Fund. Toured USA within YerazArt program in 2006.
